Keero More Turanga – about the role

Teerga Waka – Victoria University in Wittenon is currently hiring a lecturer or lecturer of Bukinga Mattoa – great lecturer in marine biology/environment. This is a full -time position.

We seek a strong research filter on focusing on moderate rock ecosystems, which will use our global coastal laboratory, including wet facilities, diving and boat facilities. The appointed person is expected to develop, manage and deliver distinguished teaching in biological courses and the marine environment in the first university stage and postgraduate studies, including the field -based courses. I familiarity, or the desire to become familiar, with Tekanga and Maturanga Mori, are expected to be in relation to marine research. The successful candidate is expected to recruit and supervise graduate students and the ability to attract external research financing, and to enhance research cooperation that includes our unique place in A whilearoa and Pacific.

The main responsibilities include the following:

  • Providing excellent education and contributing to the course coordinating through our university programs and graduate studies
  • Create and develop your research program, including attracting external financing, providing students ’supervision of postgraduate studies, and publishing research results
  • Contributing to the strategic goals of the College of Biological Sciences, such as improving the student’s experience and employing and keeping student groups an acting representative
  • Contribution to service and leadership in the coastal environment laboratory at Victoria University (VUCEL), the school, faculty, and/or wider profession

You will be driven by the eagerness of marine biology and/or related discipline and commitment to research and high -quality teaching.

The main requirements include the following:

  • Doctorate degree in biology, marine biology, marine environment, or relevant discipline
  • Excellent educational skills, with experience such as lecture or leading educational programs or delivery of field classes or laboratory
  • Strong record for the published academic research
  • Distinguished people and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work closely and university with academic, technicians and other administrators to achieve the educational goals of the school
