In response to a one -word post I wrote hereA former client and friend, Gary FlyHe presented his three words as well as the inspiring story that excites those words.
Gary is Founder and Head of Performance CXOA consulting company for management focuses on increasing revenues, EBITDA and the value of the institution. The following wrote:
I spent a lot of time last year in meditation. As old, I am consumed by the idea that I want to live a life focused on faith, family, service and joy. To achieve this purpose, I spent time in prayer, thinking, reading, monitoring, and talking to friends, family and colleagues to understand how/where do I fit in the world.
My goal is to live my faith in a way that is in line with the will of God, to be a better husband, father, brother, uncle (and friend), to be useful for my faith, and for those who faced with my church, and to do everything with joy.
This process prompted me to realize that my talents/skills/capabilities are that I have a gift to organize, stimulate and mobilize people/teams of people to work for a common goal, and when I do this in serving an important thing, I feel I feel a service with a happy heart.
Therefore, my words are active, organized, mobilizedAnd I am now using it to liquidate what I do, how I spend my time, and use it to pray to ask/distinguish what God calls me to do.
Take the idea through the opportunity trip
It is interesting for me that over the past twenty years, I have been summoned on many occasions to use these skills, but that was not until last year the idea last year.
The journey started in a useful way when the priest asked me to join, then the chairman of our school’s board of directors later. The school was in a fragile state on many fronts and for 5 years we were able to create a state of strength and stability; In the end, we were recognized by a national organization as a school excellence council.
This then led to the chairperson of two capital campaign that raised $ 13 million for the church and the school, and the organization of hundreds of volunteers literally, and again, it is eventually recognized by an international supervision organization for our marketing efforts, organization and donation.
These opportunities led me to an opportunity to join an international organization dedicated to service to the poor and patients. At that time, there was no area in our area, and I had to travel to Charlotte for meetings, etc. However, within 3 years of becoming a member, we were able to start our first region in which I was the first leader, and since that time, we became 40 local members and we managed to put 5 of our members in major leadership positions with the broader association.
Creating separation void leads to a year of meditation + ultimately choosing my three words
As I wrote, while I was involved in all these activities, I focused, shared, cheerful and part of something greater, so I left everything fading and my attention was spent with worldly and busy, and I really entered a period of separation from all this – and for it I cannot discover the reason – but I believe that this separation created dismantling then until this year. Landing on the organization, activation, mobilization (my three words).
An opportunity to be a double power
While I am thinking about these words and I am thinking about the success that we have achieved about the initiatives I mentioned, the clarity that I gained is that although I am as well as a contributor to one of the organization, where I really think I am in line with God’s will when I help a team of people to do something greater. I feel as if I could be a double power when I use these gifts. Here is how it fell to that …
- In the construction of a new church, our diocese has grown from 850 families to 1800+. We now have 81 ministries that serve our society, we have a vibrant youth ministry and a senior ministry, and we collect many foods for local food banks, we have hosted thousands of weddings/baptism/funerals, and the church provides a place to rest, hope and collect thousands on a weekly basis.
- The school’s board of directors allowed the school to enhance its money, To implement a plan to increase wages, to obtain a strategic facilities plan, and to create a proactive awareness/employment plan. This has led to years of stable/growing students, a stable base of qualified teachers and employees, adding construction and programs of early education, an active arts department and a competitive athletics program. In the end, we were able to create a very traditional educational environment for 450 students annually to develop, develop and develop a strong basis for success as adults.
- Since it became our own region, the Services Organization has been able to provide important and police assistance to the poor and the sick. For example…
- We have served thousands of Christmas meals, Easter, and thanks to the elderly people with low income. We have served thousands of meals for men and women in the last drug treatment and alcohol treatment facilities. We have given hundreds of prisoners through Pen Pal, and we donated more than 5,000 prison libraries, and we are now creating a personal visit program. We have donated hundreds of designed and designed coats specifically for the homeless.
- We are now creating a continuous relief effort to help people in West NC displaced by Hurricane Helen.
I remember these things to highlight what I think is the gifts that God wants to use, and the way I am supposed to do in the world. The list does not in any way aim to point out that I did this on my own, but rather by thinking about these elements that were shocked by the idea that I should focus on organizing, mobilizing and activating and realizing that when I do that, I am from service and fill in joy.
