The sections of academic and humanitarian writing at Shanghai Giao Tong International College, located in Shanghai, China call for full -time jobs in Academic writing and intellectual breadth.

Shanghai Jiao Tong International is the Institute of Higher Education in the English Language Founded in 2006, in a previous cooperation between the University of Michigan and the University of Shanghai Jiao Tong. The International College of the International Institute of Engineering, the only school at the University of Shanghai Jiao Tong, which provides 100 % instructions in English. Our students consist of most Chinese citizens, with a large number of international students from all over the world. In 2014, the International College was the first Chinese institution to win the prestigious Andrew Hester Award for Innovation in International Education – one of the highest honor in international higher education. Over its years, GC has become an ideal model for international -style international education and is prestigious and unique. Shanghai Jiao Tong degrees No. 45 in the world rankings.

First year Academic writing (Yes) Training courses are sequenced on the autumn and spring Thalali and aims to teach students principles, agreements and academic writing methods. Articles tasks focus on critical thinking skills, multi -part writing process, and academic research through a variety of types and specialties. Diversity and innovation in our departments, and individual lecturers are encouraged to develop their own courses based on topics and texts in their fields of research.

Intellectual breadth (IB) The courses include a variety of non -engineering disciplines, including philosophy, social sciences, literature, history and creative writing. These courses are often equivalent to “general education”, and they serve a critical function in expanding intellectual horizons for our high students.

GC is working on the table of the tronmarks, and successful candidates are expected to teach six courses per year. The expected teaching rate for this position is 4 AW and 2 IB courses, and two sessions per third, almost scheduled as follows:

13 weeks lasted in the semester, in mid -September to early December

For 10 weeks, a third of the accelerated spring, in late February until late April

Summer summary for 14 weeks, mid -May to early August

Note that GC’s winter leave lasts from early December to late February, and the summer vacation continues from early August to mid -September.

Please note that the SJTU recruitment process is a fairly long time schedule. Candidates must determine their expectations and planning accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Teaching academic writing courses in the first year
• Teaching intellectual courses according to the qualifications of faculty and interest members and in accordance with institutional needs
• Preparing and conducting lectures, designing homework, and supervising exams
• Maintain working hours
• Teaching assistants guidance
• Maintaining the course of the training course that contains educational materials and relevant course information
• Participate in the development of programs and other joint service duties

Qualifications:

• Doctorate in relevant discipline
• Two years of experience in university teaching, full -time or equivalent in academic writing
• Experience in designing a self -based academic course
• Attention or experience in China and/or in working with Chinese students
• The experience of teaching speakers in non -original English
