North Carolina is witnessing significant growth in the energy sector, driven by the arrival of new manufacturers such as Toyota and Natron Energy. NC State Engineering is expanding, as faculty students, employees, university students and graduate studies expect over the coming years. The College of Engineering has formed the battery and energy storage initiative to create the college as a leading company in batteries storage research, energy and innovation, including meeting the needs of the workforce development for the next generation of engineers. The continuous growth of the college in registration of students and the employment of faculty members provides a unique opportunity to build experience in this vital field, which will support both regional economic initiatives and national energy initiatives
Search and innovation: Leading an active research team external in batteries techniques, storing electrochemical energy, or related fields, with a focus on areas such as:
- Lithium ion, sodium ion, solid condition, and/or emerging battery chemistry
- SuperCAPACITORS and hybrid power storage systems
- Storage of power network for renewable energy integration
- Electric power storage solutions (EV)
- Battery materials to improve energy density, safety and age of the course
teachingTeaching university studies courses and graduate studies in energy storage systems, electrical chemistry, energy systems or other relevant topics. Supervising students ’projects, theses, and theses.
cooperation: Working cooperative with faculty members through specializations, including materials science, engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering and environmental engineering to meet cross -challenges in storing energy and sustainability.
commandProviding leadership in organizing, forming and facilitating multidisciplinary teams to face major challenges in batteries and storing energy and similar activities related to the center.
service: Contributing to the service of departments, colleges and university, including service in committees, directing students, and participating in awareness activities.
The date will be at the level of the full professor, and all areas of batteries and energy storage systems will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to build an internationally recognized research program, explain the ability to attract external financing, teach training courses at university levels and graduate studies, and works as a research advisor for doctoral students.
