🔥 2024 ABSI was launched in July

explained

Social and economic justice movements collectively failed to expand the chances of black and strategic thought leaders. In response to inequality, the jobs were launched with justice Black Strategy Initiative (ABSI) In 2020, our fixed commitment is to create groups of black economic justice and strategists who focus on employment who devote policies and campaigns that support the building of collective power, especially in the south.

After the launch of ABSI in 2020, we introduced four ABSI colleagues at the opening regiment in the spring of 2022. Every colleague in organizing campaigns throughout the south has been developed:

  • Nishyl Denlab Thompson She participated in a partnership with UNID STEEL workers to demand investment in Giti Tyre in the Chester and SC community and the employment of local workers.
  • Eric Hall She worked with United Automobile workers at the Mercedes -Benz Factory in Tuscunusa, Alabama, and the Volvo Factory in Montojome, Alabama.
  • Anastancia cuna I was organized with the International Federation of Apostle and allied allies in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Chichelle Williams Jobs join the transfer of America in Birmingham, to ensure that workers and societies are real benefits from federal investments for public tax dollars in private companies.

This paid vocational training program presented a set of direct experience of black workers in the development and implementation of strategies that seek to expand the force of organizational and group negotiation. Fellows also participated in a strict approach led by black academics who studied the effects of race, class, sex and power on workers throughout the south. Their stories and “ABSI School” were documented throughout the fellowship in “Absi: Reviving the Southern Black Labor Movement“.

This Juntenth, we honor the strength of our ancestors and celebrate the emerging black leadership in the future, we are happy to announce the launch of the second ABSI colleague ABSI. In partnership with the University of Clark Atlanta, we will welcome the latest ABSI colleagues on July 11, 2024.

The Black Strategy Initiative is our attempt to defeat black combat strategies and the fight against workers during the Confederation, and prevailed through the era of Jim Crowe, and continued today. Jobs with justice are committed to obtaining tools and resources in the hands of those affected by these ideologies and harmful practices. With the same spirit of resistance, such as the first jubilee, southern black workers will lead us on the way to economic justice and workers in all workers.
