🔥 The new BIOCIDE development of experiences and computer modeling at Manchester University

explained

The deadline for the application: 11/28/2025
Research topic: Soft material and biomedic physics

How to apply: https://uom.link/pgr-Apply-2425

The PhD of 3.5 years is fully funded and open to applications from home students or European Union students with a stable situation. The successful candidate will receive an annual tax -exempt based on a Ukraine rate (20,780 pounds for 2025/26) and tuition fees will be paid. We expect the salary to increase annually. Funding will also cover travel expenses and the basic laboratory to comply with the requirements of the new doctoral project in UOM.

The start date is negotiable.

We recommend that you make the progress early as the advertisement will be removed as soon as the position is fill.

PhD students are very attractive to the application by the end of November 2025 or as soon as the position is filled, which provides full fees and living expenses at Ukraine rates and project costs for 3.5 years. Additional support for training and travel coverage is also available to collaborative partners (Arxada, ISIS NEUTRON FACGIITITION), through specific experimental arrangements during a doctorate project.

This doctorate is fully funded by the University of Manchester as part of their commitment to support the successful BBSRC-Arxada Award recently, and it has been funded for 5 years, under BBSRC partnership in the prosperity industry (round 2). By connecting the project, a potential doctoral student will have an exciting opportunity to work along with 3 PDRAS with skills and research background in a set of areas related to float and interface science, vital spaces and biological materials that emphasize vital pesticide reactions with microbial and host membranes.

The broad goal of doctoral research is to train a student on skills to investigate self -fatty gatherings and biological pesticides (Catanic surface) and cross assembly processes, and to determine how the different nanotechnology structures are linked to the anti -microbial, linear, or cellular toxicity. The project teams are developing new capabilities, highlighting by combining the reflection of the neutron and dispersion with computer modeling such as molecular dynamic simulation and the extraction of data with the help of AI. The new technical capabilities will help in bridging the current gap in developing biotechnology, i.e. linking antimicrobial measures with membrane disorders involved in the nanoparticles of the membranes, thus linking the leading academic challenges to the design of vital sales and development in ARXADA.

During the project, potential student will acquire skills and experience in biomedic pesticides, biomedics of membranes, neutrons scattering, data analysis, modeling and antimicrobial tests that are based on biomalic research, with a focus on AI’s biological design to Menchester. The completion of some of these training tasks will open the student to challenge research and development opportunities in the recruitment market.

The student will join a vibrant research environment, a country and support with public participation and public participation opportunities.

Applicants, or expect to achieve, at least 2.1 honors or a higher degree at the main level (MPHYS, Mitchm or International Patuary) in the field of science, biology or related engineering.

To apply, please contact the main supervisor: Professor Jian Lu – J.lu@manchester.ac.uk. Please include details of your current level of study, academic background and any related experience and insert a paragraph about your motives for studying this doctorate project.
