Full Professor or Associate Professor (promotion track) in Clinical Psychology and Academic Psychotherapy at the University of Luxembourg

the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social sciences and educational sciences. the Department of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences Within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (DBCS) is looking for a leading academic to join its team as a Full Professor or Associate Professor (promotion track) in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. DBCS provides a highly successful and stimulating research environment as well as modern laboratory facilities. Outside the Department, current developments in health research and education at the University provide attractive possibilities and opportunities for collaboration and synergy.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead research activities in clinical psychology and psychotherapy with a focus on the etiology and maintenance of mental disorders, as well as their prevention, diagnosis and treatment. It is expected to cover teaching in clinical psychology and psychotherapy at all educational levels (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral) and to contribute to strategic developments within the department, the university and at national level in the field of mental health.
The candidate’s potential research areas are:
- Experimental clinical psychology/experimental psychopathology, the investigation of psychological processes associated with the etiology of mental disorders in a strictly controlled laboratory setting
- Psychotherapy process research, studying interactions and experiences during therapy sessions, focusing on how changes occur and what factors within the treatment process contribute to positivity
- Clinical health psychology/behavior change interventions, exploring the underlying mechanisms that drive behavior change and developing effective interventions in the context of health and wellbeing

Your profile
- Ph.D. in Psychology (with a specialization in Clinical Psychology)
- Psychotherapy license/approval
- At least five years of postdoctoral experience acquired at a university or similar research center or equivalent
- Experience teaching at the university level at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Proven track record of international peer-reviewed publications
- Proven success in obtaining funding from the European Union and other competitive international funding on a recurring basis
- Solid experience in experimental psychology, evaluation, and/or clinical trials
- Real commitment to translation efforts
- Extensive experience in direction and management
- Interdisciplinary orientation, including leadership roles in interdisciplinary networks or consortia
- Extensive experience in public awareness and stakeholder engagement
- Extensive knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks
- High standing in the scientific community
- Dedication to the principles of transparent and open science
