Foundation data engineer
The DVA Department, DDAT, seeks to appoint an institution’s data engineer.
About the role
Bath University (UOB) is proceeded in the next stage of the digital transformation trip.
A major part of this is to create a project for data and visions. The university will develop capabilities throughout the institution to become an institution that relies on data on all levels and displaying data as an institutional origin. This data will provide implementable visions and recommendations to support the decision -making process. By opening the value in our data, we will increase the experience of students and employees by adapting our services.
The digital transformation trip also transforms the road in data and technology services. Digital, Data and Technology Department (DDAT) is an emotional community of technical experts who provide digital services and technology related, relevant and safe. We are excited to help people solve problems, and we are more effective in what they are doing today and innovation to improve what can be achieved in the future.
It is expected that there will be a major change in technology and providing service and it is important to have effective and proactive participation with other departments and colleges. This main improvement in the development project will address the development of strong partnerships with the main stakeholders to provide the greatest efficiency, cohesion, cooperation and coordination.
The role of the institution’s data engineer sits inside the data and technology column inside DDAT. You will work closely with a large data and technology employees (CDTO) and stakeholders from all over the work to create and measure the university data strategy. Data brown leadership will provide and set data structure standards and work methods in the data community.
About you
You will be an expert in the topic and a reliable partner with excellent communication skills in work professionally and cooperatively with colleagues and stakeholders in business, business analysts and project managers, to ensure that solutions are compatible with reference architecture to provide the maximum business value.
You will lead the university data center structure at the university, to serve as a single source of quality data for quality insight and data -based services.
The ability to work through a large -scale technical accommodation including Saas and PaAs, and trafficking outside the shelf as well as advanced interior solutions, has the knowledge and skills necessary to take functional and non -functional requirements, and provide an expert architectural trend for engineering teams based on these requirements and assess engineering designs against architectural standards.

Additional information
- This role includes the market supplement of 17,000 pounds in addition to the basic salary scale. The total salaries offered above reflect the basic salary in addition to the market supplement.
- This role is presented on a permanent basis (36.5 hours per week).
