Opportunity:

We are looking for Human Resources Specialist To join our growing team of people at MZLA. This is a role for someone with a solid foundation in HR, a passion for recruitment and who is eager to expand their expertise across the full spectrum of employee experiences. The ideal candidate has supported successful recruitment campaigns in small or mid-sized organizations and is ready to delve deeper into recruiting, HR systems, and employee programs.

As part of a small but strong team, you will play a key role in scaling our workforce over the next 12 months. Alongside recruitment, you will contribute to wider HR initiatives such as implementing the new HR information system, revamping our recruitment website, and improving processes and documentation. This role also provides opportunities to support engagement programs, including planning and implementing the first global All Hands program in 2026.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across people, finance, and support operations, as well as teams of developers, designers, and marketers. The Individual Contributor position reports directly to the Director of People Operations and Strategy.

This is it far, Full time position. We need strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work coordination across different virtual communication platforms. This role works closely with employees across Canada, the United States and Europe. Therefore, Applicants in the Eastern Standard Time Zone are strongly preferred.

What will you do:

  • Support the full recruitment cycle, including drafting job advertisements, managing applicant pipelines, and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Partner with hiring managers to schedule interviews, gather feedback, and ensure a smooth candidate experience.
  • Manage daily HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management.
  • Maintain HR documentation, systems and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and practices.
  • Contribute to HR projects such as HRIS implementation, career site updates, and process improvements.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including planning and implementing company-wide events.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across People Operations, Finance, and other teams to deliver effective people programs.

What to bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of human resourceswith exposure to multiple aspects of HR operations.
  • Experience supporting recruitment efforts in a small or medium sized organization (leading campaigns not required).
  • Strong skills in drafting job advertisements, reviewing applications, and managing applicant tracking systems
  • Experience with best-in-class industrial ATS platforms, Greenhouse preferred
  • Familiarity with HR information system platforms and keenness to learn new HR tools and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams including operations, technical and creative groups.

Bonus points for:

  • Previous experience supporting the implementation or launch of an HR platform (e.g., HRIS, ATS), including tasks such as data entry/migration, testing, documentation, or employee communications.
  • Experience in employee engagement or event coordination.
  • Fluency in other languages ​​is an asset

We benchmark our base salaries against local markets and target the 60th percentile of our peer market. The salary ranges for this role are:

  • Canada: $82,000 – $95,000 CAD
  • United States: $72,000 – $85,000
