About this team and the role:

Firefox team is a society of engineers who deeply interested in serving the fastest, friendly and most useful browser. We are responsible for making the things you see in the browser work safely, quickly and in good health! The desktop team is a multi -functional team that focuses on updates, installation and firefox integration with different OS platforms. As part of the team, you will be responsible for all things related to the integration of the operating system and help us develop our user base.

Our team is geographically distributed, and working in the open is the base. We contribute to the code that leads Firefox on a number of desktop platforms – Windows, Linux and MacOS.

What is an employee software engineer?

The employee software engineer is the next level of a large software engineer. In Mozilla, this role can differ, but employee engineer usually supports an engineering team, providing technical leadership, building relations through the team, and helping the team to achieve their goals.

What will you do:

• Development, innovation and charging the following experience of Firefox features through installation, updates and improved operating system integration.
• Improving the ease of use and security of Firefox in large publishing processes by developing better management tools.
• Evaluating the work of the team and the product on the road map and providing insightful recommendations regarding priorities.
• Work with expert software engineers to increase your understanding of Windows, MacOS and Linux platforms.
• Improving Firefox quality by retracting and identifying software defects, and improving the experience of hundreds of millions of users.
• Work with a geographical development team.

What you will bring:

• Experience with systems programming on the main desktop platform (Windows, MacOS or Linux).
• Windows and/or MacOS development experience, especially with low -level API Win32/Cocoa coding.
• A strong understanding of C/C ++ and some rust knowledge.
• You are excellent and effectively participated in a distributed team.
• You are pragmatic on how to move matters forward in specific time frames, including the bites and guarantees when performing new jobs.
• The work experience cooperatively with product managers, project managers and/or other non -engineering teams.
