Financial Wellbeing Officer at the University of Bristol

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to help boost the financial wellbeing of students at the University of Bristol. As a Financial Wellbeing Officer, you will deliver engaging workshops, awareness initiatives and proactive interventions to support students in developing the skills and confidence to manage their money effectively. Working alongside your colleagues on the Financial Advice and Finance team, you will identify and support students at financial risk, contribute to university-wide financial wellbeing campaigns, and promote access to education and financial resources.

What will you do?

you will:

  • Design and deliver financial education programmes, including workshops, awareness events and digital resources.
  • Providing individual financial guidance, helping students budget, obtain financing, and overcome financial challenges.
  • Supporting students at financial risk, including those affected by gambling, gaming or other high-risk financial behaviour.
  • Collaborate with colleagues by supporting students, academic departments, and external organizations to promote financial well-being.
  • Develop financial guidance materials, such as budgeting tools and customized resources, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Contribute to university-wide campaigns such as National Student Money Week and other initiatives to promote positive financial behaviours.
  • Monitor engagement and use data insights to evaluate impact and inform service improvements.

  • Passionate about supporting students to improve their financial wellbeing.
  • Experienced providing financial guidance, training, or support in an educational or student-facing setting.
  • Confidence in designing and delivering educational or awareness initiatives such as workshops, campaigns or digital content.
  • – Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly, both in writing and in person.
  • Skilled at engaging diverse audiences and handling sensitive issues professionally.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Confidence in using data, digital tools and social media to engage students and improve service delivery.

Additional information

Work style: Full time – 35 hours per week
