Your turn:
Global Relay is looking for a Software Asset Manager to manage and optimize the procurement, deployment, maintenance, use and disposal of software applications within our organization.
This role is vital to helping Global Relay maximize the value of its software investments while minimizing risks and costs. The successful candidate will use their experience to help build Global Relay’s Software Asset Management (SAM) practice by developing the framework, processes, procedures and tracking methodologies required to manage and control our software environment.
A software asset manager is critical to increasing efficiency, controlling costs, and mitigating risks associated with acquiring and using software.
Your responsibilities:
- Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and avoid overspending
- Use your analytical skills, including the ability to run reports and provide data to various stakeholders
- Providing data and insights to support strategic decisions on software investments and use
- Monitor and ensure that programs are used efficiently and identify areas for improvement and cost savings
- Establish ongoing policies and procedures regarding software acquisition, documentation, deployment, use, and decommissioning
- Cradle-to-grave software management, ensuring that software applications that are no longer needed or used are removed
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with software, such as security vulnerabilities and compliance issues
- Work with various stakeholders, including legal, finance and procurement, to ensure effective management of program assets
- Work with Legal and CSOC to ensure that use of the software complies with licensing agreements and legal requirements
- Assist, support, participate and carry out any software audits
- Enforce compliance with global relay security policies and global relay server and establish end-use standards and protocols
- Communicates and educates members of other functions about SAM policies, procedures, processes and practices
- Reduce the risk of security breaches, data loss, and other potential software-related issues
- Simplify licensed software deployment and management processes to improve overall efficiency
About you:
- 5+ years of direct experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), preferably in enterprise environments
- Advanced experience with enterprise SAM platforms (ServiceNow, Snow, Flexera, or similar)
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and independently to build processes and frameworks
- Advanced analytical and strategic thinking abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional SAM certification is preferred (IAITAM, Snow certifications or equivalent)
- Expert knowledge of MS licensing models and cloud licensing optimization
compensation:
Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in accordance with BC pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as experience, skills, education and professional background.
The range below reflects expected annual base salary, which is just one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect the pay philosophy, culture and values ​​of our company. British Columbia – Base Salary Range
$110,000 – $130,000 CAD
