Job Summary: The Executive Assistant to the Principal plays a vital role in the smooth and efficient functioning of the Principal’s office. This individual is responsible for a wide range of administrative and operational support duties, and serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant may also provide essential support to the Board of Trustees and Assistant Heads of Schools as needed.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Head of the School Support Department
    • Manage the Head of School’s calendar, appointments, travel arrangements and correspondence.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the school principal, faculty, staff, parents, students, and external partners.
    • Organize and coordinate logistics for school events hosted or participated in by the principal.
    • Maintain confidential files and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Support of the Board of Trustees
    • Coordinate all logistics for Board of Trustees meetings, retreats, and events, including scheduling, room setup, materials preparation, and catering.
    • Act as a point of contact for Board members, ensuring timely communication and follow-up on action items.
    • Maintain and ensure accurate record keeping of Board policies, minutes and governance documents.
  • Supporting assistant principals
    • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Assistant President, including scheduling, project management and communications.

Career Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being comfortable with independence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills, and the ability to work effectively with both youth and adults.
  • Outstanding communication abilities (oral and written) and organizational skills.
  • Strong cultural competency skills and commitment to promoting inclusivity in a diverse community. Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed and appropriate.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, think critically and solve problems.
  • Strong computer skills, including email communication and electronic document submission. Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic and constantly evolving university admissions landscape.
  • Ability to travel to different colleges and universities during the year (when circumstances allow).
  • A valid driving license.
