Sports Center Receptionist – David Ross Sports Village
The University of Nottingham Sport is currently undergoing an ambitious program of change and investment to further support our vision to deliver an outstanding sporting offer to students and establish the University of first choice for students wanting to combine high-quality education with an outstanding sporting experience.
There are 4 permanent positions available for this role.
Position 1: A part-time position (14.5 hours per week) is available for Sports Center Receptionists to join our front of house team at David Ross Sports Village. Working Mondays from 7am to 3.15pm and Fridays from 2.45pm to 11pm.
Position 2: A full-time position (36.25 hours per week) is available for Sports Center Receptionists to join our front of house team at David Ross Sports Village. Work for a rotating four-week period including evenings and weekends. Please note that opening hours will be between 6.15am and 11pm, seven days a week.
Job 3: A part time position (12.25 hours per week) is available for Sports Center Receptionists to join our front of house team at the David Ross Sports Village working Fridays 3-8.30pm and Sundays 10.15am-6.30pm.
Job 4: A part-time position (17.25 hours per week) is available for Sports Center Receptionists to join our front of house team at David Ross Sports Village, working Monday 3-8.30pm, Tuesday 3pm-8.30pm and Saturday 10.15am-6.130pm.
Roles and responsibilities will include making bookings over the phone or in person, collecting and settling funds at on-duty reception, dealing with enquiries, directing users, issuing rental equipment, dealing with membership inquiries and issuing membership cards. Verifying user validity and dealing with lost property.
Candidates must have an excellent telephone manner and have the ability to work calmly and professionally when under pressure. Previous experience working in a similar customer focused role is essential, along with evidence of managing cash handling/settlement operations. Previous experience working with computer reservation systems would be desirable.
The role is essential to ensuring a smooth, first-class experience for students, staff, alumni and general members. Therefore, excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a proactive approach to tasks and attention to detail are essential.
