About the Bright Program
BRITE is one of the University of Southampton’s most ambitious transformation programs – focused on enhancing the student registration system (Banner) to improve the student and staff experience, streamline our processes, and support long-term strategic goals.
We are now entering a critical phase of delivery, and we are looking for an exceptional Student Systems Program Manager to lead us through this phase.
The role
As Student Systems Program Manager, you will have full ownership of this cross-functional, university-wide program. You will provide strategic direction, manage interconnected workstreams, engage with senior stakeholders, and ensure the program is delivered on time, on budget, and with lasting impact.
You will work closely with our experienced and highly committed program team to drive delivery and embed change.
What will you do?
- Lead the successful planning, coordination and delivery of the BRITE programme
- Manage program governance, risks, benefits, dependencies and budgets
- Engage and influence stakeholders across the organization, from senior leaders to operational teams
- Ensure alignment with university strategy and regulatory compliance
- Inspiring and supporting cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in software management, ideally in transforming large-scale business or student systems
- Strong working knowledge of Banner or similar student records systems
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills – confident working at senior levels
- The ability to navigate complexity and achieve structure, clarity and calm
- Strategic thinker with a practical delivery mindset
- A collaborative and inclusive leader who empowers teams and achieves results
