About you

As an experienced leader and manager, you are someone who cares deeply about your team and the success of those around you. You are passionate about providing platform services that will enhance engineering teams to deliver software more efficiently. A true polyglot with extensive experience working in many areas of SaaS platforms. You have product management instincts that help you shape the product to meet the needs of the broader engineering organization. You take a servant leadership approach in waking up management every day to improve the experiences of your team and the organization. You shine as a collaborator and are an impeccable communicator. You energize the rest of the organization and encourage adoption of the technologies your teams deliver.

What are you going to work on?

This role is responsible for leading and managing some of the senior engineers in the organisation. Your three teams of 15-20 developers and testers are focused on solving hard problems, but we expect you to make sure these are the right problems to solve, essentially:

• Centralized internal authentication and authorization services, including federated authentication
• Inter-process communication – the lifeblood of microservices architecture
• Including event-oriented architecture
• Central communications services including, but not limited to, email and SMS

• Top notch architectural pieces – while you are not expected to do the development; As a former engineer, you can have your own technical conversations.
• Experience in engineering management with a proven track record of quickly shipping products in an agile environment.
• An innate ability to not only lead your teams but also to effectively influence the wider organization. You are the person former employees would want to work for again!
• Strong knowledge and experience leveraging SaaS-based engineering principles.
• Remote work experience. We have a distributed engineering team with remote-first operations.
• A deep desire to learn the industry and delve into the details, which supports your ability to lead your organization.
• Previous experience building and managing platform-level functionality.
• Ideally, you have experience leading a team through rapid growth and technology scaling challenges.
