The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Tulane University invites applications for full-time positions Professor of Electrical Engineering Practice Position, beginning Fall 2026. We are looking for a dynamic educator and practitioner who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and preparing the next generation of engineers for impactful careers in industry and academia. Our department strives to achieve interdisciplinary excellence by integrating fundamental physics with core engineering disciplines. We seek to grow our current electrical engineering programs significantly in the coming years, including two new degrees in electrical engineering: a minor and a master’s degree. These EE programs live alongside ABET’s accredited bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics and PhD degrees in Materials Physics and Engineering. As a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), Tulane University is committed to research and education at the highest levels.

Professor of Practice (PoP) is a full-time (nine-month) non-tenure-track teaching position for an academic year (3,3 load) with a 3-year renewable appointment. Carries a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. Faculty members promoted to a senior position in PoP serve 5-year renewable terms. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in communications, signal processing, power systems, and embedded/computer systems. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a related field and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring. Postdoctoral or industry experience preferred.
