To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by carrying out a specific set of activities in a fixed research program and/or a specific research project.

We are looking for a researcher to work in the field of polymer descriptions, including polymer materials and self -assembled polymer particles. The project will be hosted in Professor Rachel Aurelli groups and Professor Andrew Dove at the Faculty of Chemistry.

The postal holder will be responsible for supporting laboratory projects in the field of polymer sciences, including the description of data collection interpretation. Training will be provided in all components technologies, but clear experience is needed in a number of aspects. It is expected to be after:

• Complete, or be close to completing a experimental doctorate in polymer sciences
• Great experience in the synthesis and description of the polymer, through a wide range of technologies including molecular description techniques such as spectrum analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance, GPC etc., as well as thermal mechanical analysis such as DSC, DMTA, etc. and particles including light prose, TEM and AFM.

Role summary

• Delivery support projects in running and research in the field of polymer sciences under the supervision of Professor Rachel Aureli and Professor Andrew Dove.
• Attending the regular project meetings; Give regular presentations to the group; Contributing to publishing papers in the scientific journals reviewed by the peer. Participate in cooperative meetings and work with the collaborators in the project.

• Providing guidance and supervision to support employees and students in the group

• Applying knowledge in a new intellectual understanding in a way
• Contribute to writing scientific papers and bids to finance research
• Publishing research results by mouth and other presentations in a group of south from the group’s meetings to seminars and conferences etc.
• Contribute to activities related to departments/schools and management related to research

Person specifications

• It has the first degree in the field of specialization.
• It has happened or prepared for Defending a higher degree (doctoral) related to the field of research or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent search profile in an area in the polymer synthesis area, polymer, self -assembly, and thermal mechanical properties of polymers.
• High -level analytical ability and experience in using polymers through a set of technologies including nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared, DSC, TGA, DMTA etc..
