Associate Professor of Latin American Politics at the University of Oxford

The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) is a leading center for interdisciplinary studies of the world’s regions, studying their political, cultural, economic and social dynamics from a comparative and global perspective. OSGA provides world-class education and research across Africa, China, Latin America, the Middle East, Japan, Russia, Eastern Europe and South Asia.
The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) is among the largest and most prestigious of its kind worldwide. It supports major research initiatives, hosts a dynamic community of visiting scholars, and has a strong group of postdoctoral researchers funded through competitive fellowships.
About the role:

About you:
Applicants must hold a Doctorate in Political Science or a closely related discipline (Awarded by October 1, 2025) and proof of:
- Distinguished record of research in Latin America and Comparative Politics.
- An ambitious and clear research agenda with the potential to attract significant funding.
- Proven or potential excellence in teaching and supervision.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment b Equality, diversity and inclusion In research, teaching and administration.
Desirable attributes include field work experience, experience in… Brazilian politicsAnd readiness to teach International Relations of Latin America And participate in awareness and public participation.
