The Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Science (MPI MiS) invites numerous applications

To join our community to explore mathematical frontiers in multidisciplinary fields. MPI MiS is a research institute located in Leipzig, Germany. Our research advances outside-in mathematics. We are committed to innovative basic research and the transfer of concepts and structures from mathematics to other academic fields.

We are looking for applicants who show strong research promise in mathematics or adjacent fields. Successful candidates will be integrated into one of our research departments (Applied Analysis; Geometry, Groups, and Dynamics; Nonlinear Algebra; Pattern Formation, Energy Landscapes, and Measurement Laws) or one of our research groups (see: www.mis.mpg.de/research/research-groups). They will collaborate closely with at least one of the institute’s postdoctoral mentors. A list of postdoctoral mentors can be found at www.mis.mpg.de/career/postdoctoral-mentors

Our offer:

• PostDoc position for 1-3 years.
• There are no teaching duties, but the possibility of teaching an advanced course in our International Graduate School.
• We provide a scientific environment that encourages the exploration of new scientific directions and provide many partners to discuss a wide range of scientific ideas.
