The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warnford Hospital site in Oxford, a friendly and welcoming workplace with an outstanding international reputation. The department has a large research programme, with significant funding from the Medical Research Council (MRC), the Wellcome Trust and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and provides high-level clinical training in psychiatry. The Head of the Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
We are looking for a Grants Officer to join our team to provide pre- and post-award management and dedicated financial planning support to Principal Investigators.
About the role
The position is funded for 3 years and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at Warnford Hospital.
The position is available on a mixed basis where the post holder will be expected to work on site for at least two days each week.
You will be part of a team of Grants Officers, each of whom commissions new funding applications using the University Cost Estimator (X5), ensuring compliance with sponsor rules, liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders, as well as managing a portfolio of research grant awards.
About you
We are looking for a highly organized individual who will have a proactive approach to this role. Having achieved university level (or equivalent experience), you will have relevant grant management experience, strong communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines. It is recommended that you try out the costing tool X5.
