- Base Salary (Level B/C) $127,436 – $179,998 per annum + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
An opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Optimization Theory to join the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney, one of the largest Mathematical Sciences schools in Australia.

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Improvement Theory, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the design, delivery and assessment of teaching and learning while continuing to build your research contribution, expertise and impact. You’ll also benefit from our supportive community of world-class mathematicians and statisticians.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Contributing to the development, implementation and promotion of innovative mathematical education programs within the College of Mathematics and Statistics,
- Conduct high-quality research in optimization theory and related fields
- Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics to students from different disciplinary backgrounds
- Supervision and coordination between graduate and undergraduate students
- Attracting external financing and communicating with partners.
About you

- Ph.D. or equivalent Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
- Strong publication record in optimization theory
- Evidence of independent research, consistent with University of Sydney standards
- Evidence of ability, diversity and commitment to excellence in teaching
- Develop knowledge of key strategic issues in mathematics and the higher education sector
- An additional requirement for the position of senior lecturer is experience in supervising students.
