Research Services (RS) plays a key role in the ongoing implementation of the University’s research strategy by providing targeted and specialist support to researchers at the University.

We are looking for a Research funding and development coordinator To join our Research Services Pre-Award team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the University’s research portfolio and supporting researchers to achieve funding success.

Main duties include:

As part of our dynamic R&D finance and governance team, you will:

• Coordinate research funding applications, ensuring that proposals are of high quality and competitive.
• Provide expert advice on funder guidelines, eligibility and cost.
• Help include the impact of research in project design, and support projects that have real-world benefits.
• Develop and share clear practical guidance for researchers through training, information sessions, workshops and events.
• Act as the central point of contact for internal finance operations, making them smooth and efficient.
• Support the delivery of exciting strategic and cross-disciplinary projects.
• Work closely with academics, research centers and professional services across the university to enable research excellence.

Our successful candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Educated at degree level (or equivalent experience).
• – Knowledge of the higher education sector and the research funding landscape.
• Confidence in advising, preparing bids and ensuring projects stay on track.
• Skilled in communication – written and verbal – with keen attention to detail.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and enjoy working as part of a team.

Experience in research costs, pricing or full economics would be a bonus, but training and support will be provided.
