Senior Research and Innovation (R&I) Analyst at the University of Kent
Do you have an understanding and/or appreciation of the higher education sector and the key challenges and strategic issues facing research and innovation in the higher education environment as well as experience of managing and responding to data and information requests? If so, we would welcome your application for this role.
As a member of the Central Delivery Team of the Directorate for Business Development and Innovation (BDRI), you will play a key role in ensuring that all reporting and compliance activities relating to research and innovation are conducted in an efficient and efficient manner in order to minimize any risks of regulatory or legal exposure. You will actively manage operations related to TRAC, FEC, benchmarking, and internal and external monitoring returns.
As a Senior Research and Innovation (R&I) Analyst, you can expect to be involved in:
- Manage, maintain, and develop systems and processes related to the university’s costing and pricing systems, including exception reports, salary rates, general rates, funder lists, and foreign exchange rates. – Liaise with other directorates such as Human Resources as necessary
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of research and innovation analyses, including hands-on production of datasets, analyses, and models
- Being the Directorate’s specialist regarding Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) and Full Economic Costing (fEC) methodologies, and coordinating with other Directorates such as Finance as necessary. Conduct necessary surveys and monitoring as part of the annual TRAC(R) application process.
- Data compilation and support submission of internal and external monitoring returns such as HE-BCI, HESA, KEF and REF survey. Play a leadership role in addressing data quality issues
What will you bring to the role?
- Degree in a relevant field and/or appropriate management qualification, or demonstrable relevant experience
- Good working knowledge of TRAC and fEC
- Experience developing and implementing new policies/procedures in a complex organization and preparing data for submission to external monitoring exercises
- Experience with finance (i.e. UBW) and research management system (i.e. Worktribe) would be advantageous
