The role

We are looking for an outstanding individual interested in supporting the training and delivery of dental education at Bristol Dental School.

Opening in 2023, Bristol Dental School has quickly gained popularity for providing the best in dental training, in a modern and supportive environment. We are looking for someone who is recognized as a specialist in dental technology (preferably in removable prosthetics). You will advise staff, students or other technical colleagues on relevant specialist techniques, contribute to the development and delivery of educational activities, and provide specialist knowledge during educational delivery sessions.

The post holder will be expected to work in both the teaching laboratory and dental production areas, maintaining skills and providing support for the delivery of patient technical work (at certain points throughout the year).

The post holder will be required to use modern dental technology techniques, such as intraoral scanners, using 3D dental design software (eg ExoCad, 3Shape, Dentsply) to support teaching, and dental 3D printing and milling machines to produce dental restorations and educational resources.

What will you do?

You will provide teaching support, primarily in the Prosthetics Teaching Group (PTS), but may also be asked to provide support in the Clinical Skills Group and other teaching environments across the school, as well as the Dental Production Laboratory. The role will be responsible for supporting and delivering educational content and contributing to the development of educational materials.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who is a strong team player and able to work proactively to find solutions and solve problems. The individual will have a passion for dentistry and a genuine interest in developing themselves, other colleagues and dental students.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council as a DCP (Dental Technician)
