We are looking for a Senior Clojure Engineer to become a founding member of a small engineering team. You will partner with Product Management and Design to design, implement, test, iterate, and maintain features that will bring unprecedented technology to the school and substitute teacher market. You will play a key role in helping us mature and scale our team, code base, infrastructure, processes, and products. Essential duties and responsibilities * Foster a collaborative environment for you and your teammates to deliver high-quality, reliable, and well-tested features * Ensure that code meets performance, reliability, quality, security, and testability standards * Mentor others to solve problems and lead complex projects * Build groundbreaking products that produce valuable outcomes for our users * Collaborate closely with product and design management on requirements, priorities, effort scale, and trade-offs * Collaborate with teams across Foundation to achieve our company’s comprehensive goals

technology * Our core apps are reactive ClojureScript web apps built on Reagent (which is a ClojureScript wrapper around React) * Our mobile app is built using React Native * Our backend API is written in Clojure and our primary data store is Datomic. All daily development will be in Clojure. *Please note that previous Clojure experience is not a requirement but is nice to have. We are confident that we can train as needed and that engineers will enjoy working in Clojure. * Deployment is based on CI, built on top of AWS ECS and CloudFormation via Convox

What will you bring? * 5+ years of professional software development experience * 2+ years of experience using Clojure/ClojureScript or other functional languages ​​* Experience using Datomic Cloud * Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and React (bonus: Reagent/re-frame) * Significant experience in architecting and designing software solutions * Significant experience in building APIs and consumption * Experience in front-end development using modern Javascript frameworks, such as React or Vue * Experience leading projects and mentoring others to solve problems * Comfortable with modern infrastructure fundamentals such as AWS tools, Docker, CI/CD, etc. * Experience developing and shipping production-level services in an agile, product-oriented environment * Proven track record of becoming a domain expert in both technical and business domains
