AT-PAC appoints new UK Managing Director as ScaffEx25 showcases national ambitions |

After unveiling a wave of new systems at Bauma 2025, AT-PAC used ScaffEx25 in Manchester to shift focus closer to home, showcasing its UK capability, setting a clear promise of national service, and introducing Charles Stratford as its new UK Managing Director.

eEarlier this year, Scavmag Reported from Bauma, AT-PAC showcased a series of new modular systems, including the MPBS, PAS Escape Stair and Ringshore.

Sharing a joint platform with Doka, the show was dominated by a 30-metre Ringlock tower, underscoring AT-PAC’s role within Umdasch Industrial Solutions and its ambition to become one of the top three scaffolding brands in the world.

At ScaffEx25, the focus was different. Rather than promoting globally, the company used the UK’s largest scaffolding event to show how this innovation translates into on-the-ground delivery.

Andrew Boynton, who has been with AT-PAC for a decade and previously served as Managing Director for the UK business, is now Regional Director for Europe. He said while speaking at the exhibition Scavmag That ScaffEx25 “It came at just the right time.”

It has allowed AT-PAC to demonstrate its systems, people and vision directly to the UK market, while connecting with its wider European strategy of opening new branches and staying closer to customers.

His move to the European role reflects this focus. He added that the appointment of Charles Stratford to lead AT-PAC in the UK is essential “Key to ensuring those ambitions translate into consistent and reliable delivery.”

A defining moment for UK operations

For Stratford, this event was an introduction. “ScaffEx25 was a milestone” He said. “It has given AT-PAC a platform to showcase not only our product range, from Ringlock to MPBS and our public access system, but also the strength of our team and our ability to support UK industry nationally.”

He noted that many visitors were seeing the progress of AT-PAC in the UK for the first time. “This underscored our commitment to being a long-term partner in the ever-changing scaffolding landscape, With the right people, the right product and the right business offering to support the scaffolding sector.

Stratford joins AT-PAC from PERI UK, where he was Director of Sales and Business Development. He describes his approach as an “outside-in” perspective, shaped by experience both on the operational side and in customer-facing roles.

“From the outside, AT-PAC has always stood out for its strong business model, proven products and continued growth.” He said.

“My role now is to build on this foundation while strengthening an already outstanding team of respected industry professionals and ensuring we expand in a way that provides predictable national coverage.”

Next year

Stratford is clear about its main goal: “Nationwide coverage, zero excuses.” This is divided into four priorities:

  • Inventory is where the business is – Repositioning inventory so that key hubs and industrial corridors are always within the rapid response range.
  • Engineering with speed – Fast temporary work and application design, supported by standardized computational packages.
  • Digital transparency – Give customers real-time visibility into kit availability, order status and compliance documentation.
  • One safety standard – Apply the same procedures whether to a public access post or a heavy industry scaffold.

Stratford said feedback at ScaffEx25 showed the market was hungry for that kind of certainty.

Design for change

Looking to the future, Stratford believes AT-PAC’s competitive advantage will come from designing for change: modular systems that adapt to new ranges, data visibility to move inventory and people quickly, and a safety-first mentality that doesn’t buckle under schedule pressure.

“Hold on to these three things.” He said, “National coverage becomes a real competitive advantage, not just a slogan.”

Together, Bauma and ScaffEx25 demonstrate two aspects of the AT-PAC strategy. Munich was about product and global ambition. Manchester was about people, service and UK delivery.

For a market facing more stringent programs, more complex projects and increased safety requirements, AT-PAC’s offering is simple: available toolset, responsive geometry, digital clarity and consistent standards.

With Boynton now leading in Europe and Stratford in the UK, the company has set a universal standard. Over the next 12 months, the test will be whether “national coverage, no excuses” moves from promise to reality.
