To support the Embassy and Consulate of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in Berlin, Germany, IOM will provide visa-related administrative services between three visa application centers across Europe, with the aim of making the visa application process more convenient and timely.

Working under the general direction of the Head of Office in Paris, France, and under the direct supervision of the Deputy Team Leader of the Korean Visa Application Center (KVAC), the intern will assist in the day-to-day operational activities of the IOM-managed KVAC in Paris (France).

The training will cover the period from mid-December to mid-February.

Responsibilities

Tasks will include:

  • Assist the KVAC team with daily activities, including but not limited to receiving and sorting visa applications delivered by post, passport and document logistics, and requesting documents supporting the visa application according to the relevant checklist.
  • Assist the KVAC team with communications with beneficiaries, following established standard operating procedures, including contacting visa applicants to obtain missing documents or to collect passports.
  • Attend project meetings and training sessions with the project coordinator and other KVAC teams (London, Berlin, Ulaanbaatar)
  • Assist the KVAC team in preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Carrying out any other task that may be assigned to it.

Qualifications

education

student or graduate; Preferably in IT, Computer Science, IT Management or similar.

expertise

  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in an international team
  • High level of computer literacy in standard MS Office products with specific proficiency in MS Excel
  • First experience managing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows network (LAN/WAN) environment will be an advantage
  • Early experience in administrative work and/or direct user support and troubleshooting computer and communications equipment would be an advantage.
  • Early experience in IT, computer science and IT management will be an advantage

Languages

Fluency in French and English is required.
