Senior Financial Systems Analyst | WorkSafeBC functionality on T-Net

We are looking for a Financial Systems Analyst to join our Financial Technology and Intelligence team. You will leverage customer service, server/network, and end-user IT expertise to support the day-to-day operations of the department’s financial systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of functions related to the systems and business needs of the Corporate Finance, Financial Operations and Procurement Services departments and their internal customers. We develop and ensure compliance with the organization’s financial reporting and internal control policies, provide innovative approaches to delivering healthcare solutions to injured workers, and manage payments to vendors and employees. We also provide key internal and external financial reports.

How you will make a difference: You will help protect the financial health of BC’s workers’ compensation system, ensuring that we serve British Columbians now and into the future.

Where will you work?

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines remote and in-office work based on the operational needs of the job.

The successful candidate will work two days a week in our Richmond office.

What will you do?

  • Maintain current financial systems for finance departments, including but not limited to defining and preparing system access requests for data supervisor approval, preparing server/network folder security requests for data supervisor approval, managing SharePoint financial sites, and developing and enhancing complementary tools to automate and implement micro solutions
  • Create and publish business reports and maintain current reporting inventory and tools
  • Participate in identifying the impact of upcoming changes on the current business software environment
  • Help identify business issues and remediation opportunities for clients, and provide business and systems based recommendations
  • Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviors expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsiveness, respect, fairness, cooperation, responsibility, and forward-thinking.

Is this right for you?

We are looking for people who can:

  • Understand and support financial system functionality and perform daily configuration and troubleshooting of the financial system implementation
  • Use network and desktop tools to solve everyday problems (for example, MS Access, MS Excel, SQL, Active Directory tools, and reporting products)
  • Apply knowledge of general accounting principles and/or business processes in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or purchasing.
  • Take the initiative in setting and initiating tasks
  • Approach working collaboratively

Your background and experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (MS Access, MS Excel, Outlook mail/calendar and reporting tools)
  • Find out access to server/network or other folders

Salary: $33.34 – $41.36 per hour
