(CUPE ASSISTANT)
The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring Assistant Recreation Facilities Supervisors to support a variety of programs offered at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Center, South Ponson Community Center and Heritage Hall. Reporting to the Recreation Director, this position provides general assistance to the public, preparing equipment for programs and events, maintaining building safety and security, performing custodial and minor maintenance duties, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to support program registration and needs.
Applicants must be willing to work a variety of shifts Monday through Sunday, 5:45 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Scheduling will fluctuate based on operational needs, with shifts primarily from Friday to Sunday evenings to support events.
Qualifications:

• Completion of grade 12 with some relevant experience, or completion of a certificate program in the entertainment field; Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Enthusiasm to provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
• Experience supporting a variety of events and anticipating customer needs.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical labor that includes lifting and carrying event equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• A valid British Columbia driver’s license.
• St John’s First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
