Full time: 35 hours per week

Fixed term: 27 months

Opportunity:

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join an interdisciplinary team investigating how ocean acidification will lead to habitat loss in cold-water coral ecosystems. This 27-month position is through a NERC-funded grant on “Coral Disease in Cold-Water Coral Ecosystems – In Coral Reefs for Habitat Loss Model.” The post holder will conduct acidification experiments on 3D printed ‘micro-corals’ at the University of Edinburgh and St Abbs Marine Station to visualize and measure loss of habitat integrity in a variety of scenarios. The project will incorporate this data into existing models to create inland coral reefs to predict future habitat loss of these vulnerable marine ecosystems.

This position is full time (35 hours per week); However, we are open to considering flexible working patterns.

The salary for this job ranges from £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

Your skills and qualities for success:
