This position is full-time, and has funding for up to 14 months.

We are looking for a Research Associate to make a pioneering contribution to the GALLANT program (https://www.gla.ac.uk/gallant) through the “Simultaneous Carbon Sequestration and Pollution Tackling” project, working with Professor Caroline Guchot Lindsay, Professor Cees Onlor at the University of Manchester, Dr Adrian Bass and Dr John Macdonald, and in collaboration with more than 50 researchers from across our schools, colleges and institutes, as well as 29 key program partners from a variety of public bodies and community groups. And companies.

The primary objective of this research project is to remediate land, restore ecological function and reduce habitat fragmentation across Glasgow by simultaneously sequestering carbon dioxide and stabilizing or mineralizing contaminants in derelict and vacant land through chemical carbonation and microbially induced carbonate deposition. The post holder will join the later stages of the project and will be expected to support the delivery of a pilot on site.
