Under the supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the NCAA Division I basketball program, including, but not limited to, identifying and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; Supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; Prepare and conduct individual and group practices, training, and competition; Promote the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes; Organizing travel arrangements for the team and staff; facilitating administrative duties and paperwork; Manage distribution and ordering of team equipment and supplies; Coordinating and managing women’s basketball summer camps; And represent the athletic program as needed regarding promotion and fundraising for women’s basketball.
2 – 4 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with sports participants.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision making; Be effective in solving problems and communicating effectively orally and in writing.
Specialized knowledge of the sport or team activity, in addition to basic technical expertise in training principles.
Current knowledge of the applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and to avoid any violations of these rules and standards at all times.
Demonstrate effective problem-solving and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
