The College of Health and Social Welfare is at the forefront of preparing people to solve realistic issues in health and society, and to provide courses and research that each of the commissioners and employers believe. The school has an excellent reputation in teaching and research in the field of health and social care. Among the members of the academic team are dentists, social workers, nurses, allied health care professionals, psychologists and sociologists. The school is operated on two university campus, based in Southind and Colasceter.

The school seeks to expand the academic team of oral health sciences. The appointed candidates will support the team while they are developing plans to expand oral health training programs at the University of Essex.

In particular, we welcome applications of individuals who are keen to contribute an activity in excellence in education by designing and providing a large -scale education, essential and effective, and providing learning support, at the levels of university stage and graduate studies. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teamwork and enhance the contribution of both research and education in oral health sciences, including dental health and dental treatment.

Duties for the floor

  • To contribute to excellence in education by designing and providing education and providing learning support, at the levels of university stage and postgraduate studies (such as developing curricula, reviewing, evaluating and supervising research, etc.) as agreed with Hod.
  • To do driving duties related to the appropriate education stage and may also be reasonable by HOD.
  • To enhance the scientific reputation in the department and university by contacting the wider academic community and participating in the activity of knowledge exchange.
  • To contribute to experience and knowledge in administrative and/or institutional initiatives as directed by their department head.

There are 3 part -time permanent publications available 14.4 hours per week (0.4FTE). There are two functions on the Kulchester campus and one on the Southind campus.

The required skills and qualifications

Applicants must obtain a degree of relevant postgraduate levels in the subjects in oral health or be on the verge of completion or professional experience or equivalent, and the fellowship of the Academy of Higher Education or the ability to gain professional recognition in this or a higher level if appropriate. The current registration with GDC as a dentist or dentist, with a clear training record is necessary.

There is also a need for an independent work experience in teaching at the levels of university and/or graduate studies, or the possibility of clarification to engage in educational support and learning in attractive and innovative ways.
