About the role
Teamsters Local 315 seeks to obtain a high degree of organization and attention to details Accountant and office manager with experience To manage financial operations and salary and administrative statements of our office in Martinez. This position does not include supervision of employees, but it requires independence, confidentiality, accuracy and the ability to deal with sensitive information with caution.
The ideal candidate must have a strong experience of more than 5 years in the field of notebooks, salary and accounting lists associated with unions, and have to maintain the progress of office operations smoothly.
Main responsibilities
Accounting and financial management
- Managing sellers accounts, handling credit accounts, and settling credit card statements.
- Customize expenses to comply with LM-2 and prepare financial documents.
- Dealing with PAC checks and deposits and tracking political contributions.
- Treating weekly salaries, daily allowances and monthly allowances; Transfer salary taxes on time.
- Prepare and provide monthly advantages, health, social welfare, pensions, 401 (K) and PAC reports/reports.
- Registration of deposits, keeping the general professor’s book, settling banking data, preparing monthly financial statements and Secretary reports.
- Preparing weekly banking deposits, conducting bank transfers, monitoring cash flow, including investing excess funds.
- Work as an essential contact for all audit operations, including annual CPA audits, IBT audits and government agencies.

Human Resources Management and salaries
- Maintaining and updating employee licenses / sick leave and employment files.
- Manage the process of rehabilitating new employees, preparing salary statements, direct deposits, decorations, and registration of advantages.
- Implementing the wages scheduled and salary amendments and maintaining leave balances.
- Coordination of salary statements and advantages changes with external service providers as needed.
- Support employee inquiries related to payment, benefits and human resources documents.
Office management
- Managing tenants accounts, including leasing, renewal of contracts, and problem solving.
- Supervising the maintenance of buildings (plumbing, guarding and service providers).
- Requesting office supplies and coordinating service/renting office equipment.
- Office technology management, library phones, voice postal system, cell phone tasks, and email accounts.
- Providing basic support for the desktop computer and coordination with IT service providers to solve technical problems.
Members and service providers support
- Preparing and processing membership communications.
- Create and address deviation reports, including messages and notifications (task delegation as needed).
- Helping the treasurer in formulating and distributing communications, notes and notifications.
- Treating life insurance and accidental deaths in the local union and reporting member deaths for publication.
- Coordination with the treasurer and other office employees to ensure operational consistency.
Administrative support
- Assist the treasurer in correspondence, employee communications and the needs of the public office.
- Support written employees by responding to phones, spreading payments, assisting members, and preparing new members as needed.
Basic competencies
- Knowledge of holding the books with a full cycle – He must understand the credit accounts, city accounts, salary statements, banking settlements, and maintenance of the General Professor’s book.
- Salary management and benefits – Ensure that salary statements, dealing with discounts / decorations, paying salary taxes, health and social welfare administration, pensions, 401 (K), and other features / reports / payments.
- Financial reports – The ability to prepare accurate monthly financial statements and the reports of the trustees and provide ready -made documents to check.
- Experience and compliance – Maher in organizing records and working as a point of communication for external CPA audits, unions audit and organizational reviews.
- Cash flow management – The ability to monitor bank balances, prepare deposits, make transfers, manage investments, or reserve funds.
- Human Resources Management and salaries – Experience in maintaining employee records, preparing employees, dealing with salary statements, and providing basic supervisory support for written employees.
- Master accounting programs Strong in Quickbooks (or the like) in addition to Excel (axial tables, settlements, and formulas). It should be able to publish daily activity and create reports.
- Attention to details and accuracy – It is necessary to settle accounts, allocate expenses (for example, LM-2), and to ensure that all reports/payments and on time are correct.
- Confidentiality and professional judgment – You must deal with sensitive financial and personal information with appreciation and integrity.
- Communication skills and problem solving Comfortable work with employees, sellers, auditors and leadership. Capable of explaining contradictions, solving problems and providing directing clearly.
Qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in the field of holding notebooks or accounting.
- Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel advanced skills.
- Experience in handling salary statements, the insurance box, and the preparation of advantages reports.
- Excellent attention to details and accuracy.
- Previous experience in a union or non -profit office is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
Payment range: $ 45 – $ 55 per hour
