Participant researcher in transportation (circle) at the University of Bristol
Role
The department (society and infrastructure for the long -term climatic effects project) at the University of Bristol is looking for a post -PhD colleague to contribute to mission 2, as it focused on assessments of the quantitative impact of societies and infrastructure networks under multiple tension tension scenarios. This task includes evaluating the risk on physical infrastructure, services and services during complex events such as tsunami, successive failure, and coastal risks. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the agent -based models (ABM) to simulate evacuation behaviors through transportation networks within the framework of tsunami scenarios, to merge these models into multi -step flexibility stress tests.
What will you do?
Responsibilities include designing evacuation models and calibration of coastal societies (Canada and Indonesia), integrating spatial and demographic geographical data and risk to simulate real human behavior and infrastructure response under pressure. The role includes the modeling of mutual models between infrastructure systems (for example, roads, strength, communications, emergency services) that affect the results of evacuation and society’s flexibility. The candidate will make scenario analyzes in light of the severity of varying risks, disrupting infrastructure, produce performance and flexibility measures such as delaying evacuation, network failure, and access to basic services. Strong cooperation with a multidisciplinary research team and participating with stakeholders in society is necessary to ensure that models reflect local conditions and priorities.
You must apply if
Applicants must obtain a doctorate (or work for one) in civil engineering or systems, transportation, geography, urban planning, or a related field, with experience in the model -based modeling, evacuation simulation, or infrastructure systems. Efficiency in programming (Python, Matlab, Matsim), spatial analysis (GIS), and quantum modeling. Experience with an analysis of dependence on infrastructure or elastic measures is one of the assets.
