Summary of the situation:
Oceanx is looking for a scientific program employee to lead scientific tasks on the research ship. Oceanxplorer. Submit reports directly to the co -chief executive of OCEANX on all issues related to science, and this role will play a major role in forming and managing the science program. The science program official will cooperate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes science, media, education and marine operations, while it works as a major link with international scientific societies and ocean exploration.
The ideal candidate will cooperate with external research organizations to identify, evaluate and develop tasks of scientific importance and compatible with the broader OCEANX mission. With the support of the team members, the science program official will contribute to the full mission life cycle – starting with thinking, reviewing proposals to planning, implementation and post -task evaluation – ensuring that every exploratory journey achieves a purposeful scientific effect and the value of storytelling.

Duties and responsibilities:​
- Work as a mission coordinator on board the ship, and supervising all elements of scientific missions
- Work as a head of scientific operations while you are on board, which ensures the implementation of scientific tasks effectively
- Leading communication with scientific societies and ocean exploration societies to build alliances and strategic partnerships that are in line with OCEANX partnerships
- Evaluating and recommending scientific tasks proposals in cooperation with digital programs, partnerships and education teams
- Communications Department related to scientific programs and mission outputs with digital programs/marketing and internal communications and external partners (pre -mission reports, during the task and after the mission)
- Supervision of planning and logistical services to ensure the delivery of the task empowerment elements in a timely manner (for example, permits, scientific equipment and supplies)
- Direct scientific and technical teams on board to ensure that missions have the resources and capabilities to achieve success
- Developing and preserving the budgets of operations and scientific projects
- Supervising the resources of the Science Team, including contractors, consultants, land and marine employees
- Preparing to spend long periods at sea, where travel constitutes up to 35% of the year
- Prepare to work for flexible hours, including early in the morning or late evening, to support cooperation through time areas
- Adaptable to the various work burdens, and the budget of intensive implementation with lighter operational stages

Qualifications:
- ​​Professional experience:
- Master’s degree or doctorate. In the relevant scientific field
- More than 7 years of experience in an organization or a similar field (for example, maritime research, exploration, memorization or scientific processes)
- Experience installed in the coordination or management of marine tasks, field research, or marine operations, with a strong professional network in the ocean science community or exploration
- The background in marine sciences, ocean science, or relevant field work; It is highly preferred direct experience with exploratory trips to ocean sciences
- He proved his success in planning and implementing complex and multiple projects with stakeholders in dynamic and fast -paced environments

compensation:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary ranging between $ 135,000 – 160,000 dollars (including the reward on the basis of merit, which depends on years of experience and the level of education obtained, in addition to a set of applicable skills), and this is likely to serve as an incentives paid for success and excellent advantages package, including a comprehensive paid medical plan from the employer and a generous match for the owner 401 thousand.
