Job responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the program manager, the project coordinator in Giga will play a role in managing relationships with multilateral and academic stakeholders in the field of global delivery and operating the strategy of stakeholders’ participation in Giga.

The project coordinator will be responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of activities that enhance relations with stakeholders in the main public and private sectors, and to ensure compatibility with the Giga mission to connect each school to the Internet.

The role requires coordination of the implementation of strategy strategy in Giga, academic partnerships, developing work plans, ensuring knowledge management, and effectively cooperating via GGA, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional and has experience in project management, stakeholders ’participation, monitoring and evaluation, with extreme attention to details, and the ability to work cooperatively in a fast -paced environment.

The main responsibilities and tasks will be:

• Academic partnerships:

  • Support for the coordination of Giga Research Lab with Geneva University, including implementing the work plan and supervising progress.

  • Contact and coordinate with various Giga teams participating in the implementation of the partnership.

  • Quality Assurance and timely time reports of the partner and coordinate any adjustments of a longing contract with UNICEF business procedures.

The project coordinator is expected to make one trip to the Giga Technology Center in Barcelona during the 4 -night contract.

Education/Experience/Language Requirements

A. education

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree in Equation) is required in Business Administration, International Relations, International Development, Project Management or Related Field.

• It is preferable to accept a university degree from the first level (Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent) in the relevant fields with an additional two -year experience instead of the advanced university degree;

for. work experience

• A busy record of at least 5 years of experience in project management and the participation of stakeholders is required, preferably in preparing the international/public sector.

• Experience in managing many projects with many stakeholders is required simultaneously, giving priority to tasks, and final dates for fulfillment.

• The experience of using cooperative tools and platforms such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint, focusing on Excel and PowerPoint.

• Knowing UNICEF’s policies and operations on partnerships with implementation partners is one of the origins.

• Understanding the global scene of communication and multilateral stakeholders in the communication space is one of the assets.

C. Language requirements:

• Fluency in the English language is required. Knowing another official language for the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is one of the origins.
