The Intellectual Property Group in the Disney Legal Affairs Department is looking for highly qualified candidates for the position of first consultant for intellectual property who provides advice to its work on trademark issues, publishing rights and advertising right.

The position will be mainly responsible for providing advice on a group of publishing rights, advertising, and trademark issues related to the development, operation, marketing and enhancement of Disney entertainment gardens, cruise lines, resorts, tourist attractions, live entertainment experiences, consumer products of a special nature and relevant services. This position will provide strategic legal support and advice for business units regarding brands, copyright, advertising, defamation, related legal tasks, such as analyzing complex rights issues, reviewing and formulating the language related to intellectual property of the agreements, and analyzing intellectual property issues related to emerging technologies and other strategic business initiatives. The position will cooperate with and upset the problems to a greater number of intellectual property lawyers.

What will you do:
• Advice to customers on many issues related to intellectual property, including brand issues, publishing, defamation and advertising right.
• Analysis and advice on complex rights.
• Advice on the aspects of intellectual property in legal agreements.
• Conducting trademark permits and prosecution. Supervision and work with semi -legal employees of internal intellectual property and external advisers in multiple countries.
• Consult on legal developments in many countries on trademark issues and publishing rights.
• Analysis and solution of intellectual property claims.

Required qualifications and skills:
• At least 5 years experience in the field of intellectual property (transactions or litigation) with a law firm and/or an internal department
• Experience in dealing with trademark issues, publishing, defamation and advertising right.
• Knowledge of the first amendment and issues of fair use in relation to the intellectual property law.
• Knowledge of social media, content applications and other platforms
• Experience in working with and managing legal assistants.
• Experience in presenting presentations and speaking to the audience. This position includes educating business units on intellectual property topics from time to time.
• Show the ability to evaluate risk. Practicing proper legal judgment; And advice to businessmen and other lawyers on intellectual property issues.
• The ability to work independently, as well as under the supervision of senior lawyers.

The range of employment for this position in the Los Angeles region is $ 174,600 to $ 225,800 annually. The basic salary will already take into account internal justice and may also differ depending on the geographical area of ​​the candidate, knowledge, skills and experience related to function among other factors.
