The Academic Clinical Lecturer will continue clinical training at 50% full equivalency within NHS England North East and Yorkshire. The successful applicant will work with the Training Program Director and academic leadership in developing a research configuration for clinical training that is conducive to both academic advancement and production. This post is for up to 4 years (minimum of 2 years) or until CCT/CCST is reached, whichever is sooner.

Successful exit from the academic training program will leave you well placed to seek competitive research fellowships, senior academic lectures and work in the global health research community.

The Dean of Graduate Studies confirms that this placement/program has required educational and column approval. The contract will be with York University.

This post is equally open to those who may wish, either from the outset or later, less than full-time training (flexible training), if qualified, or a work share. For more information about flexible training, please contact NHS England North East and Yorkshire.

Applicants for this NIHR Clinical Lecturer need to hold a current National Training Number (NTN) for the specialty or be capable of clinical measurement to be able to take up this position. Clinical standards can be achieved by requiring relevant specialist training within the national recruitment window where a minimum appointable score must be achieved.

Doctors designated as NIHR CL Must already hold a higher research degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) by the time of interview and have at least ST3 training level. Candidates may only apply if they have already submitted a doctoral or doctoral thesis at the time of application.
