Remote Executive Assistant (Independent Contractor, Remote) at MEL Dorman/Seller Finance Academy
About the role
Are you a systems thinker who thrives on bringing order out of chaos?
We are striving to get Remote Executive Assistant (Independent Contractor) To support Mel Dorman – Real estate investor, author and founder Seller Finance Academy.
This is a part-time, flexible contractor role (approximately 30 hours/week) for a proactive operator who likes to create the structure, automation and communications systems that free up driving time.
About a mile
Mel Dorman is a Portland-based entrepreneur and financial activist who helps people build Community-focused wealth Through creative real estate strategies. She leads a multi-million-dollar portfolio, a national training academy, and frequent speaking events—all of which require behind-the-scenes coordination and systems support.
Responsibilities
You will manage MEL’s operational world – inbox, calendar, student communications, and automation systems – with ownership and precision.
Executive support
Inbox and calendar management: sorting, prioritizing, draft responses
Coordinate meetings, speaking engagements, and podcast appearances
Book travel and prepare itineraries
Respond to media and partnership requests (BIOS, images, etc.)
Systems and processes
Build and maintain SOPS that improve efficiency
Set up automation in HubSpot, Zapier, and rechub
Newsletter messages, reminders and student announcements
Track certificates, affiliate payments, and digital assets
Seller Finance Academy Support
On board new students and follow-up management
Monitor student inbox and questions, escalating as needed
Manage student access, payment plans, and tuition announcements
Coordinate property management
Prepare lease and renewal from approved templates
Track rent increases and renewal schedules
Organizing monthly financial documents to notebook letters
You are very fit if you are

Required qualifications
3+ years of experience as an executive or administrative assistant
Proficiency with Google Workspace, HubSpot (or similar CRM), Zapier/Make, ChatGpt, and QuickBooks Online
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and managing confidentiality
They are located in a time zone that overlaps 9am to 11pm in Pacific
Bonus points
Background in real estate, training, AI automation, or online education
Experience supporting thought leaders or course creators
Light design or copywriting skills (newsletters, templates)
Familiarity with seller financing or community entrepreneurship
Contract details
Independent contractor (1099)
