3149825LG-R Teaching Fellow – Employment at the University of Southampton
Applications are invited from Allied Healthcare Professional (AHP) backgrounds to apply for a Teaching Fellow position to join the Primary Care Education team for a 24-month period. This is an exciting new opportunity to contribute to the first years (1 and 2) of undergraduate medical education for students on BM4/5/6/EU medical degree programs with a focus on elements of primary care; Early clinical examination, practical skills, communication and multidisciplinary team work as part of a new re-evaluated course. This is a specialist role for a 24 month project to assist in the development, delivery and resources of a new element of the curriculum and will report to the Revalidation project team on the development and use of similar roles/moving forward.
On the BM4/5 programme, students study at one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals – Southampton General Hospital – and at life sciences facilities built on campus. The BM6 program is designed to expand participation in medicine. Students in the BM (EU) program study alongside BM5 students in Southampton for the first two years before returning to Kassel in Germany for the majority of the final three years.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop an educational portfolio including leadership, teaching, curriculum design and assessment in the early years primary care components of the BM4/5/6/EU programmes. The nature of this portfolio depends on the applicant’s successful experience, skills and experience.
The Primary Care Team operates within the School of Medicine and is a growing, innovative team sitting in the School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education, which provides a supportive environment with many opportunities for collaboration and further training. We are seeking to expand our interdisciplinary faculty team through the inclusion of an AHP Education Fellow.
