3223725RW Administrator (Facilities and Merchandise Management)
The distinctive design of the Life Sciences Institute Building 85 was built in 2010. It provides key infrastructure for multiple faculties at the University of Southampton, including research and teaching laboratories.
You are invited to apply for a full-time position for Building 85 Facilities/Goods in Administrator to provide support to the occupants of Life Sciences Institute Building 85. We are seeking to appoint a customer-oriented, enthusiastic, flexible and organized person to implement and provide support to help ensure the effective delivery of building facilities and ordering services. This position is part of the College Operations Service and reports to the Facilities Manager (B85).
About the role:
You will work closely with the Facilities Manager to support the operational running of the building and contribute to promoting a positive health and safety culture.
You will provide cargo cover and work closely with the merchandise in charge to support the ordering of services and goods in the yard department.
You will liaise with colleagues across the university and external people in reporting construction issues and coordinating repairs.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience providing effective and efficient administrative support
- Proven track record of identifying and resolving critical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills to build effective and credible working relationships within the team as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively manage your workload to meet business demands
- Good numeracy and IT skills to ensure excellent attention to detail and maintaining accurate records
- Willingness to do some manual handling and physically active tasks
The successful candidate will be expected to work 36 hours per week. This role does not support hybrid working.
