Postdoctoral researcher in inequality, social policy and social mobility at the University of Oxford
About the role
The Ministry of Social Policy and Intervention would like to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to work on a project related to economic and social inequality in high-income countries. The postdoctoral researcher will work directly with Professor Zachary Parolin. The desired candidate must lead independent research, and ultimately be able to pursue independent grant funding, in one of three areas:
(1) Use of LLMs and integration of AI into inequality research,
(2) Study policy strategies to reduce inequality in high-income countries, and/or
(3) Study social mobility and its relationship to economic inequality. The Postholder will work with the Inet Oxford program on Economics, Inequality and Opportunity.
About you
You have completed your PhD in the field of social sciences (or related field of data science), have interest and research in the field of economics and experience in data management and analysis. You have demonstrated experience working with quantitative data and related software (Stata, R, Python, or similar).
This is a full-time position for 12 months, and must finish no later than February 2027.
