about us

The UEL Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) leads the research and innovation in environmentally friendly technologies to support a carbon -free society. Since 2001, we have handed over influential projects, our cooperation with industry, and we have built a strong international reputation.

Our work focuses on three main axes:

• Green infrastructure – including peating land environment, and urban spaces, and their preservation.
• Sustainable materials and resources – covering the engineering of materials and circular economics.
• Sustainable society – exploration of government, community participation, and adaptation to the climate.

About you

We are looking for an experienced researcher in peat land environment, changing land use, or environmental social economy to take a leading role within SRI.

you will:

• They have experience in nature -based solutions to change land use, especially in peat lands and agricultural landscapes.
• To be skilled in social and economic analysis (SEA) and evaluating the environmental impact.
• Effectively connecting research to various fans.
• It flourishes in a multidisciplinary environment, cooperation with partners and stakeholders.
• They have experience in securing research financing and project management.

About the role

As a major member of SRI, you will do the following:

• Leadership and contribute to continuous research projects and work packages.
• Conducting specific and quantitative research and publishing and showing results.
• Building cooperation with partners and securing external financing.
• Promote green infrastructure and research topics of sustainable society.
• Supporting teaching, exchanging knowledge and generating income in UEL.
• Guidance of researchers and students at the beginning of their career.

This role is currently funded by 0.6 FTE, with flexibility in work arrangements that can be explored during the presentation or interview. For candidates who already have research financing or can show a busy record in the field of consulting, there is a possibility to expand the role to full time (1.0 FTE), taking into account the discussion when submitting the application or interview.
