Role:

Join our team as a strategic HR partner! We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join our team at our Geointelligence, Richmond BC Location! As a trusted advisor to our business leaders, you will leverage your exceptional relationship building skills, strategic thinking and results orientation to drive business results and deliver tailored solutions to enable our organization to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment. In this critical role, you will partner closely with business area leadership, union leadership and HR teams to navigate complex people challenges, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and drive strategic initiatives that move our business forward.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess short- and long-term business needs of the client group and provide guidance and support to operational and consulting human resources for client groups
  • Actively participate in HR project work, such as developing new HR strategies for the organization as a whole
  • Provide strategic HR support to corporate and cross-functions, including finance, IT and legal to drive business results and achieve organizational goals. This includes developing and implementing HR strategies, programs and initiatives that are aligned with business priorities, supporting the growth and development of the organization and enhancing employee engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate and work proactively with business leaders to identify key talent issues impacting business objectives, and deliver strategic solutions, including identifying and retaining top talent
  • Provide expert guidance and assistance to managers on a wide range of HR issues, including employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, compensation, employee retention and engagement, workplace accommodation, employment legislation, HR policies and people programs
  • Partner with leaders to design and implement organizational structures, processes and systems that support business objectives and drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with MDA’s HR COE team to design and implement new initiatives and process implementation and leverage the team’s expertise in planning and delivering functional initiatives for the relevant client group
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, with the ability to shift between strategic, operational and tactical levels
  • Communicate, facilitate and/or deliver talent and business programs at the industry level
  • Actively participate in HR organization initiatives, such as developing new HR talent programs for the organization as a whole
  • Change management initiatives to support business transformation, including communicating, coaching, monitoring changes and providing training to leaders
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to inform business decisions, identify trends, and measure the impact of HR initiatives
  • Managing through ambiguity, uncertainty and changing priorities, while maintaining a solutions-oriented approach
  • Provide responsive and timely support to business leaders and employees, ensuring timely and effective delivery of HR services
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices
  • Collaborate with other HR functions to ensure integrated HR services

Candidate profile:

  • 6+ years of professional level HR experience, ideally in a business partner role
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proven experience advising and collaborating with operational business leaders in a consulting capacity and can build trusting relationships quickly
  • Completion of post-secondary education in human resources management, or equivalent
  • Experience developing and implementing business solutions in medium to large, complex matrix environments
  • Strong understanding of applicable legislation
  • Proven skills in coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, risk management and relationship management
  • Ability to use effective influence strategies to build respect and partnerships with business leaders
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, able to work in a very fast paced and high growth environment
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to reconcile and re-clean work based on dynamic business demands and requirements
  • Effective and persuasive oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Successful candidates must obtain and maintain security clearance at the Reliability Status level, and issue a Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Security Rating and ITAR.

The role may require approximately 20% travel

The compensation range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000 annually. The specific compensation offered depends on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
