About the role

please note: Due to the practical nature and customers face this role, this role is based on the site at Oxford University, with no hybrid work options or remotely.

  • As an information technology support official, you will provide technical support for the second line of Windows desktops across the university. Your work will include diagnosis and repair of devices and programs, publishing and rebuilding desktop devices, managing user accounts, and supporting employees from a distance or on the site.
  • You will monitor the service office system, solve or escalate accidents, and make sure you maintain accurate records of devices, programs and user activities. The role also includes contributing to technical documents and keeping a permanent knowledge of information technology developments to improve the service that we constantly provide.
  • This is a role that faces customers as it will interact with employees at all levels, and requires excellent communication skills and a professional approach to support. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to specialized projects, such as providing technical support for university exams.

About you

  • An in -depth experience support Windows operating systems and desktop computers/laptops.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to diagnose hardware errors against software.
  • Understanding network concepts and software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to manage the work burden and determine its priorities, and work independently and cooperative as part of a team.
  • Personal communication skills and excellent communications are able to explain technical problems for non -technical users.
