The source of diamond light is the National Science Facility in the United Kingdom. By accelerating the electrons to the speed of light, Diamond generates great symptoms of light infrared to X -rays that are used for academic and industrial research and development through a set of scientific disciplines including structural biology, physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering and environmental science.

About the role

Diamond runs a range of world -class small corner dispersion tools, with both SYNCHRONON Sources and unpaid sources, which cover the entire life and science series.

The I22 line enables structural studies with length standards that range from atomic to several hundred nanometers. Increasingly, we find scientific problems that require longer length standards, even several micron. To cover this, we have completed the setting in i22 using a cinematic x -ray prose tool.

We now have an opportunity for a post -PhD researcher to help improve and exploit the new tool. You will focus on developing fast scanning techniques to allow the most effective use of the instrument of the instrument. There will be opportunities to develop your research program in the field of very X -ray dispersion in the X -ray angle independently, and in cooperation with the I22 user community.

This position represents an exciting opportunity for the enthusiastic person to play a major role in expanding the Saxs group capabilities in Diamond.

About you

You will have a doctoral degree and appropriate degree, along with confirmed experience and research interest in related fields:

• Nano’s structural analysis of regulations with a length of 6 microns
• Developing and publishing tools
• Scientific programming to support data collection/processing/analysis.

You will be able to communicate and interact well with both employees and collaborators and show good presentation skills.
