Trump/The Republican Party does not believe it is important for you to obtain health care
When rights are discussed, most Americans consider political rights stipulated in the constitution – the right to freedom of expression, the right to demonstrate, the right to worship as you like (or no), and the right to vote.
This is definitely important rights, and democracy cannot survive without it. But there are also three basic human rights. Without them, political rights are meaningless. They are the right to food, shelter and health care.
Most developed countries recognize human rights. They have social capitalism that secures feeding people, includes, and obtaining decent health care. The United States is strange.
In the United States, the two political parties do not agree on these basic human rights. While the Democrats realize them and try to make sure of it, the Republicans do not do so. With Republicans there are sufficient power to prevent democratic efforts, the United States has failed to expand these rights to all its citizens.
Perhaps the most disturbing Republican action is their opposition to basic and appropriate health care for all citizens. This is not new. They usually opposed the government to help citizens obtain health insurance.
When President Johnson suggested medical care (providing health insurance for the elderly) and medicaid (to provide health insurance for the poor), the Republicans were both.
When President Obama suggested the law of care at reasonable prices, the Republicans also opposed this (although it was less than the coverage of all citizens).
Although the Republicans were unable to completely eliminate any of the programs, they were able to prevent them, which makes them better and constantly trying to enter or reduce funding for them.
They continued this when they passed a “beautiful, beautiful bill.” This law gave the huge rich tax cuts, and partially pushed it with significant discounts to medical aid and subsidies for ACA. The discounts to Medicaid will lose several million people with their health insurance. By lowering the subsidies to ACA, the premiums of this insurance with a significant rise. With the new higher installments, the other millions will not be able to buy insurance.
The Republicans knew this when this has passed the bill. They not only cared. For them, it was important to provide unnecessary tax discounts for the wealthy from protecting health insurance for Americans they needed.
Why? It is simple. Republicans do not believe that health care is a right that must be guaranteed to all citizens. They consider it just a product that is sold to those who can bear its costs. And if you cannot bear it, this is difficult. They do not care.
All Americans are worth obtaining an affordable healthy insurance, so that they can access the health care they need. It is a basic human right. But that will not happen as long as the Republicans remain in power.
