3 Roads The leadership of the private sector appears to be different in the workforce today

The days of leadership and control have come, “because I said that” leadership and punishing disobedience with a slap from the ruler (or worse!). In both military culture and the private sector, a new form of leadership appeared these days.

My experience with the military leadership comes from 15 years of working closely with members of the transitional service, old warriors and military couples. As a civilian, my experience with the internal works of the army comes from what I saw in the movies (joke!) In which hundreds of people participated – if not thousands – who wear our nation’s cloth.

I spent my entire profession in the private sector or adjacent to the private sector and have seen the leadership changes that have occurred during the past twenty years. Today, these changes hunt many military – civil customers – unaware and absent.

Here are three examples of transformations in the private sector leadership model:

1. topical strength disappears

Today, we see people who have an impact on initiatives not because they were voted or got the rank or job title that would accompany this effect previously. They make a difference and a change in leadership, because they listened, learned, adapted to them and tend to build confidence, share a thoughtful vision and make a change of the right reasons. Many of these individuals are not famous or recognized, but their influence is known and feels through their organizations and societies.

2. Leaders must show reality

The days in which the custodian won and “the face of the poker.” Today, leaders who prove weakness, sympathy and invest in their employees guarantee loyalty. Weak means that you are real enough to admit mistakes, take over the ownership of bad options and share what experiences feel. Weakness is not seen as weakness, but as a force in the leaders whom the leaders want to follow and work hard for it.

Reality means being real. Real people link (and forgive!) Real people, defects and everything. And accountability and property, along with countless other features such as integrity, passion, vision and credibility, provides us with the qualities of leaders that make us feel safe, empowering and inspire to enjoy their vision and push them forward.

3. The executive presence is old

In the past, your civil career has grown – looking forward to this corner office all the time – by looking and exploring in a certain way. Our messages were made and a text book. Our cabinets were specially designed and a limited number of acceptable colors, and if you had charisma and lean, it was good to go. The problem came when the text messages did not seem real, and the clothes were no longer reflected from you and we saw people without attractiveness at the front of the room, and I gained levels of envy from the follow -up.

Today, the traditional models of the executive existence have made the way for more friendly and bound shapes connected to the construction of the effect. Today, a person with credibility, emotion, insight and vision can cut more operations to push the effective change. Today, the person in the back of the room can have influence and impact on how decisions are made from the person who holds the appropriate job title at the front of the room.

What this means is that the leaders today should look at those voices that may be hesitant – those who wait with the patience of a turn or the right time to jump into a conversation. This hesitant person may have the secret of opening great ideas because of the place they come from and what they have seen. Today’s leaders realize that we need to hear them too.
